Run an annual competition seeking Australia's net zero energy homes. Promote the prize winner(s) and ask them for best tips on energy efficiency, including the cost of solar technology and reduction of energy bills.

The purpose of this competition would be to spotlight green energy pioneers and inspire others to follow suit. It could provide information on how to use energy more efficiently. The move to solar seems certain but also slow; both the reasons for resistance (cost, batteries) as well as the advantages may be addressed in personal case studies. The competition would promote a discussion of the costs and benefits of a net zero home, gaining attention for this important policy area.
